Happy Election Day! If you haven’t already voted, please go vote! As a reminder, our Voter Guide has information about who’s on the ballot and answers to questions about the polls.
I need to correct my early voting tally in yesterday’s newsletter. I sincerely apologize: I didn’t realize until after the newsletter went out that the total number I used didn’t yet include Saturday. And more than 95,200 people voted on the last day of early voting. SO, over the entire 12-day span, 1.04 million South Carolinians voted, according to state Election Commission data. That leaves about 2.4 million registered voters who need to vote today!
Jessica is traveling to Charleston County today. Skylar will be in West Columbia at Jermaine Johnson’s gathering tonight. And Katharine will be at the GOP event in Columbia for all of the statewide Republican nominees. I’ve also hired a freelance photographer for the night. I want to say a giant “thank you” to the readers who responded to yesterday’s email request to help replenish funds for mileage and freelancing! Your support enables me to make those assignments.

Republicans and Democrats in South Carolina made their final get-out-the-vote pitch ahead of Election Day at breweries just a few miles apart. At Bierkeller Brewing in Columbia, Democrats talked hopefully of a potentially historic election. At Steel Hands Brewing in Cayce, Republicans urged people to take friends with them to the polls to keep South Carolina ruby red.
