There is no early voting today. Plan to vote in the primary runoffs tomorrow. Precincts will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Crossover voting is not allowed. In other words, if you voted in the Democratic primary, you can’t vote in the Republican runoff. Otherwise, if you’re registered to vote and you didn’t participate in early voting last week, go vote!
There are three statewide races on Republicans’ ballot. Voters will decide nominees for governor, attorney general and agriculture commissioner. There are also runoffs for two congressional seats. In the 1st District, Republicans and Democrats need to pick their nominees. Democrats will also decide their 2nd District nominee.

Residents of rural Richland County now have access to emergency healthcare close to home, thanks to South Carolina’s state-owned hospital system. Sen. Darrell Jackson of Hopkins says the center answers pleas that began more than three decades ago from him and the late Rep. Joe Neal.

A Texas-based forensics company has solved a vexing mystery, identifying the remains of a Revolutionary War soldier who died in the 1780 Battle of Camden. South Carolina Battlefield Preservation Trust helped tell the story of this Maryland teenager who joined the Continental Army after his father died.
