Voters have picked who’s facing off in two weeks. Just over 11% of registered voters participated in the primary that winnowed the field down from 10. Now, plan to vote in the Aug. 25 runoff.

Darline Graham and Ralph Norman advance to runoff in special GOP primary

A month after the death of Lindsey Graham, his younger sister advanced to a runoff against South Carolina’s 5th District congressman for the chance to succeed him in the U.S. Senate for the next six years. Sen. Darline Graham led the 10-candidate field with about 33% of the votes. With almost 25% of the vote, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman will join her on the Aug. 25 ballot.

$15B state spending plan approved with no legislator-requested projects

The $15 billion spending plan legislators passed Tuesday, six weeks after the fiscal year began, included no legislator-requested earmarks but did increase tax breaks for older homeowners.
