Yesterday, Skylar was at the Statehouse, while Jessica was in the church for Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral.
This morning, Rep. Jermaine Johnson is announcing his pick for a running mate, filling out Democrats’ gubernatorial ticket for November. Jessica is covering that. This afternoon, Attorney General Alan Wilson, the Republican nominee for governor, is holding a news conference for a fraud enforcement announcement. Skylar is covering that.

The late Sen. Lindsey Graham was remembered Wednesday as a loyal, witty friend who embodied the American Dream and the state he loved. Gov. Henry McMaster, Sen. Tim Scott, and former Rep. Trey Gowdy shared their memories, often eliciting laughter at the funeral. It was a bipartisan program: U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn recited Scripture.

South Carolinians said their farewells Wednesday as U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham made his last stop at the Statehouse, where his political career began 34 years ago. It was quiet, except for the four F-16 jets that flew overhead. A single protester silently held a sign. People talked with Skylar about their agreements and disagreements with the senator.
